Blue Front Cafe... easily missed among the Haight Street attractions, but it is one place for food that should not be missed. The food is amazing! well for a quick bite, not for something over the top expensive, or over the top special, but man, do they make a mean sandwich and salad.
The usual order from here consists of:
The Clubhouse Sandwich: no cucumber, add avocado, and swiss cheese on a dutch crunch roll. AMAZING. seriously.
Chicken Caesar salad: not sure what they do exactly, but it's one of the best Caesar salad's i have had. Maybe it's the freshly fried chicken that is warm, or maybe the delicious dressing, or the croutons, who knows really... but it's delicious, honestly. so a half of that sandwich and half of that salad... it's enough food for 2 to share, well 2 hungry people... it's a lot of food.
The decor is a bit eclectic, but don't let that intimidate you. The menu is large and caters to many types of eaters, from vegans to veggies, and carnivores alike, there's something for everyone here at the Blue Front Cafe. You will find what you are looking for here, oh and don't forget to get your frequent buyers card punched, i think if you buy 7 sandwiches the 8th is free! Let's give Ike's a run for their money!
