A wine bar with a great industry night? yup, that's CAV. Monday night is all about food industry deal night. From 9-12midnight the chef puts together a sampling of goodies that can be found on the "family meal menu". This is only about the 4th monday they have done it and so far, it has a following. The first week i went it was gourmet hot dog night. They had a mini housemade corn-dog with a beurre blanc type dipping sauce, and then a pulled pork mini hot dog on a bun with a sauce grabiche. amazing, $3 each, and pair that with a $2 can of Miller High Life and Monday night has started. Because the first week was so great, i told people at work to show up for fish and chips, and sure enough we represented... so fish and chips for $5, and a bass ale for $3. Mind you this place is not cheap, their a la carte menu is wonderful full of amazing options and the wine list is great too... just not as inexpensive as i would like. So this monday night thing is right up my alley. This past monday was fried chicken night, a mini bucket for $3, sides of mac-n-cheese for $1 and collards for $1 too, and all served with a complimentary glass of purple kool-aid, and $2 Olympia's in a can. It is a fun time without breaking the bank... and the food??? well it keeps us coming back for more, or maybe it's the nice kitchen staff that make us feel right at home, coming out to chat etc. fun times had by all. So if you are in the industry, come on in stop by and be ready to be surprised by the prices and the amazing food!!
